Want to save time, money, or your sanity? Read about the 5 spaces in your home that you need to keep clutter free!
1. Your Desk
This may be a place you work, make lists, or browse the internet. What ever you use your desk for, you need to keep this place free from junk. Clear space. Clear Mind. You need to be able to easily use this space without having to push off old bills or piles of books. If you need to create more space, get a desk organizer for papers, pens, and other miscellaneous items (you use daily).
2. Bathroom Counter
You don’t have to have a big bathroom, to keep it clean. Everything you use just needs to have a designated place. This is key for things to go back where they belong. It will save you time getting ready and make for quick clean up. Also, remember if you bring something into the bathroom take something out. You don’t need five half-empty bottles of lotion or old makeup that you don’t use! Get rid of it, and keep it organized for your sanity.
3. Dining room table
Does your dining room table look like this?
We must remind ourselves the table is for food, not a temporary holder for items that belong elsewhere in our home. It is so important to keep your dining room table clean because if you do not have a clean space to eat, you will get in the habit of hunching over your dinner while watching Netflix on the couch. Don’t deprive yourself of family conversation or begin lifelong forming hunchback because you can’t keep your dining room table clean. I say YOU, but your spouse and kids can be the culprit or add to the mess. Get your kids into the routine of keeping toys, and clothes off the table as well. If you have a clean, inviting table, you will save money from going out to eat or being quarantined to other areas of your home.
This is a money saving tip!!! If you can’t see what you have, then you won’t use it, and it will go to waste. It is simple enough, don’t spend your hard earned money on food gone bad. Three simple tips to keep your refrigerator clean.
Do not by too much food
Use bins to organize food
Put vegetables and fruit in their proper drawer
5. Bedroom Closet
Closets can be a touchy subject, so I saved this one for last. Many people hate to depart with any items in their closets. They have clothes, and shoes, they will never wear. I get it; you don’t want to get rid of that sweater because you might wear it next year, and you don’t want to have to spend money buying a new one. So you keep things just in case. You can’t live like that! If you keep everything and get rid of nothing, your closets will eventually burst at the seams.
It is not about how big your space is; it is about organization. When I say organization, I mean getting rid of what you don’t wear and finding a place for things you do. It is a painful process but thoroughly look through those items before you try to find a space for them. If you love it and wear it, keep it! Everything else should go. (Please donate items)
